Overview of Regulation
Human gene therapy is not specifically regulated, it falls under the more broad category of stem cell research. Regulations compared to Canada and America are generally the same, both take view points of all fields and apply those rules to regulating any type of stem cell research. Points of view are taken from many stand points which include ethical, financial and global views.

These similarities and differences imply that in North America they have strict rules and policies on furthering this research/ technology, this slows down the possible perfection of this technology. This is also be common on global scale because of the moral and ethical questions raised.
